Hello Samuel Dellacherie,
I have been supporting sis for several years now. Until recently I was
with the CAD group at UC Berkeley, where I was a graduate student. I
continue to support sis at this time..
The way we handled requests like yours was to quote the section of the
SIS copyright notice, which states:
> * Use and copying of this software and preparation of derivative works
> * based upon this software are permitted. However, any distribution of
> * this software or derivative works must include the above copyright
> * notice.
So basically, you can use SIS to generate derivative software, but must
acknowledge that you have used SIS as your base. In practice this means:
1) That the source code acknowledge UCBerkeley if you make modifications to
it.
2) That UCBerkeley be acknowledged when the program(s) are run. For
example, when your modification of SIS is invoked, UCBerkeley ought to
be acknowledged.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
Sunil
