    To do synthesis from within vis, you have two options:

    1) use the synthesis commands in vis (see the commands in
    the synth package of vis)

    2) a) you can write out your design using write_blif (which
    is part of the io package in vis).
       b) Now you can optimize the resulting blif file in sis
    (there are some restrictions which are outlined in the
    write_blif documentation).
       c) Then you can read back the optimized design back into
    vis by doing a read_blif.

    a) and c) are done in vis, b) is done in sis. See the documentation
    for write_blif and read_blif in vis for details..
